INTRODUCING OUR THIN RECESSED MANHOLE COVERS FOR USE WITH RESIN BOUND AGGREGATE

About us- Kram covers 

We have been working in the resin bound aggregate business for over 15 years. We have always had many requests for overlay resin projects over concrete or tarmac and existing manholes were always an issue. Taking them out to replace them with 50-60mm recessed manhole is very time consuming, labour intensive and expensive. It can turn a small simple one day resin job into a two day project.

Over the last 18 months we have been developing, testing and manufacturing our thin recessed manhole covers. They will save you lots of time and money on overlay projects and your resin job will still look perfect when completed. 

There are three sizes of recessed cover that will allow access to most manhole cover sizes. The opening sizes are as follows:

FAQ's

 What are the covers made from?

The covers are made of stainless steel to prevent rusting when installed.

What sizes do you manufacture?

We offer three sizes, based on internal dimensions to allow access to the manhole cover below. The available sizes are as follows: 

350x350x18.    

520x520x18.      

650x650x18

Can a car drive over them?

Yes, if installed correctly, cars can drive over the cover. During development, we tested by driving over it thousands of times without issue. However, please note that Kram covers are not load-bearing; they rely on the strength of the underlying manhole cover to support the weight. If the kram cover is not installed properly, with gaps or movement between the Kram cover and the underlying cover, this could cause the cover to shift, potentially compromising the resin.

Are the covers design protected 

Yes we have achieved design protection for the recessed manhole covers from the uk intellectual property office (unipo) from July 2024.
